About Kimo Metal Works

An owner-operated fabrication shop in the Dallas Design District, building honest metalwork for North Texas.

Our story

Started with one truck. Still run by the same guy.

Troy Plotkin spent years welding on commercial job sites around Dallas before opening Kimo Metal Works. He saw too many projects stall waiting on a fabricator who wouldn't return calls, so he built a shop around communication and craftsmanship.

Today our team works out of a 14,000 sq ft facility at 1002 Ash Street, Dallas, TX 75207, a few minutes from downtown. We serve general contractors, architects, property managers, restaurants, retailers and homeowners — and Troy still reviews every quote himself.

  • Owner-led estimating and project oversight
  • Welders qualified to AWS D1.1 procedures
  • Fully insured — COI available on request
